Finance and Philanthropy for TL Seniors

Before our seniors head-off to new endeavors beyond TL, they will have the opportunity to learn about financial literacy and philanthropy in a two class workshop, sponsored by Amanda Weitman, Senior Vice President, Wells Fargo Private Bank and Marin Community (MCF) Foundation. Financial literacy will cover the nuts and bolts of personal finance, budgeting, understanding your personal banking, and how loan decisions are made; as well as, understanding what a FICO score is and what it means. Our Philanthropy class lead by MCF explores the historical context of philanthropy and the  role philanthropy plays in society today. What is philanthropy? How is it practiced? And what are the benefits to the giver and the receiver? Students will wrap-up with a real-world example of philanthropy in action which will end with the granting of $1,000 to a local nonprofit organization. This will be the second year of this enrichment program generously supported by Amand Weitmand and Marin Community Foundation.
